Major Health Trend: Seeds
So you must have been reading in newspapers or seeing on the internet, all the hype about the seeds that we usually don’t have in our diets but must include. Especially when it comes to the health freaks out there. People often choose to take the habit of consuming these on their own.
The seeds we are talking about are mainly Flax seeds (I know you must have heard this name a lot of times!), Chia Seeds (Another famous one!), Hemp seeds, Sesame Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds and the list goes on.
This blog might give you reasons why you should be adding them in your diet.
Maintaining a balanced diet these days is a very difficult task. Whole of our young generation is mostly divided into two types of ‘food trend followers’, one are the foodies that love to go out, try every new product that comes into the market and keep on exploring places for their food, the other ones are those who are complete health freaks, keep a complete control over their nutrients intake, switching through different diet plans from time to time. But while trying to balance all the ingredients, we usually forget how much important Fibre is for our body. Not only fibre helps in improving your digestion system but also makes you feel full for a longer time, hence reducing the chances of frequent meals. It also keeps a check on our sugar as well as cholesterol level.
Not too much blabbering, but let’s just mention basic benefits of few of them.
Hoping that this blog pushes you towards making just a slight change in what you eat and it may work wonders. Who Knows!!

- Chia seeds are very good when you need to keep a watch on your cholesterol levels and your digestion clock ofcourse. Also it is recommended that they must be taken along with a lot of liquid, since they have high absorption. So like 1/4th cup of seeds with 1 cup of milk, soaked overnight and top it up with your favorite toppings.
- Pumpkin Seeds are a rich protein source, and also heart healthy fats. Just toss them up in your salads and soups and enjoy.
- BloodPressure issues?? Flax Seeds!! Flax seeds are potassium rich and lower your blood pressure, also they have a good amount of essential fatty acids. Just add them in anything, salad or soup, or just have a spoonful of them in the morning.
- Hemp seeds are rich in Iron, phosphorus, magnesium, also some essential fatty acids which may help in heart diseases. They can be added to give a nutty texture to your salads, oatmeal and yogurts.
- Watermelon Seeds when roasted can be a savory, portable snack to munch in at any time, not just passing your time but also pumping your body with good amount of protein.
- Sunflower seeds, are very rich in Vitamin B, also in some powerful antioxidants. So switch that peanut butter with Sunflower seed butter, which is creamy and crunchy. Spread it on some apples or bananas and enjoy a energy packed snack.
